Overview

2023 | 2:39 | Sydney, Australia
University course project

Brief

"For this task, you are free to develop an idea of your own choice; however, you should ensure that you can feasibly bring it to production. Create an audio-visual piece that is 2–3 minutes in duration."

My roles

Producer, Director, Videographer & Video Editor

Tool used

Camera: Smartphone (mobile cinematography)

Editing: Premiere Pro

A high-angle, vertical shot of dark turquoise ocean water with white foam and swirling currents crashing against an unseen shore.

Logline

In a quest to avoid the extremes of love, a person struggles with fear and vulnerability, caught in a cycle of giving too much or too little, and ultimately confronts the pain of emotional detachment.

This project serves as a successful demonstration of end-to-end film production, executed entirely as a one-person crew. It showcases full proficiency in production management (scheduling, budgeting), directing, cinematography, and comprehensive post-production—including advanced video editing, color grading, and subtitling for final delivery.

A full-screen capture of the Adobe Premiere Pro interface showing a complex editing timeline with multiple video and audio tracks. The preview monitor in the center displays a cinematic shot from the film with white subtitles overlaid on a misty, grey background. On the left, a project bin shows thumbnail clips of a person walking along a coastal cliffside.

Demonstrates advanced multi-track video & audio editing proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.

The tasks I completed

  • Production Management: Developed the script, budget, shot list, and production schedule (Gantt chart).

  • Directing & Cinematography: Managed casting, directed the actor, and executed all on-set shooting.

  • Post-Production: Handled all video editing, color grading, adding subtitles, and final output using Premiere Pro.

Artistic Inspiration

I created the short film with limited means. I decided to write a poem about love—a subject that fascinates every artist! From there, I chose to film at Malabar Headland National Park (NSW) to link the imagery with the poem.
